A refreshing, tail-wagging treat your pup will love inspired by The Brown Newfies. These frozen blueberry and banana bites are made with simple, dog-safe ingredients and are perfect for warm days, enrichment time, or a healthy snack. Naturally sweet and easy to make, this recipe is a fun way to spoil your dog while keeping things wholesome and stylishly simple.
Important Note:
Be sure to use plain, unsweetened yogurt and avoid any ingredients with added sugar or artificial sweeteners (like xylitol), which can be harmful to dogs.
Ingredients:
- 1 large banana
- 1/2 cup washed and dried blueberries
- 1/4 cup peanut butter (no xylitol)
Instructions:
1. Smash the banana with a fork in a mixing bowl
2. Stir in peanut butter
3. Carefully fold in blueberries
4. Spoon into silicon modes
5. Place in the freezer overnight or for 6-8 hours
6. Serve to your dog!
Notes:
If your dog is on a diet and you want to eliminate the peanut butter you can substitute nonfat plain Greek yogurt.
If you want your frozen banana blueberry dog treats to be more blended, you can throw the ingredients in a blender and blend.
Frozen treats will store for about 2 months in the freezer in a freezer-safe container
